Full Moon Ceremony
Since meeting just over a year ago, Mia and I have made an effort to create our own traditions and rituals. One we’ve had right from the beginning is a Full Moon Ceremony- a celebration of ourselves and each other surrounding the powerful pull of the Full Moon. The New Moon is a good time to journey into yourself and set new intentions for the month. The Full Moon is a good time to reevaluate these intentions, tune in to where you’re at for the lunar month and celebrate progress in yourself.
One of our first dates when we were just starting to get to know each other was on the Full Moon in May of 2018. We went kayaking on Lake Dillon to one of the islands with a picnic and ended up sitting around talking for hours until it was past sunset and quite dark. As we started our kayak back to the Frisco Marina that night, the Full Moon started to peek out from behind the mountains illuminating the lake. We’re both no strangers to the powerful energy of the Full Moon so soon after we decided to start a Full Moon Ceremony to stay in tune with ourselves, each other and our surrounds as we began dating. A year later it has evolved a bit. It’s still a great way to check in with each other and can be designed to fit your needs. We take turns sharing our answers to the questions below.
Full Moon Ceremony
Since the last Full Moon…
What are you proud of yourself for?
What are we proud of each other for?
What are we proud of as a couple?
What can we improve on as a couple?
Each month we set a guiding word or principle to help us grow. How did we do for the last month’s guiding word or principle? What can we do better?
What is our new guiding word or principle for the month? How do we work on it? How do we check in about it throughout the month?
How can we best support each other in this partnership throughout the month? This is a time to speak up about what we each really need for the month individually and together.
Our ceremony always ends with a celebration. We pick something fun to do together. Sometimes it’s simple like a movie night together. Other times it’s a future date night or fun activity together.
Do you have a Full Moon Ritual? We’d love to hear about your traditions and rituals and invite you to use pieces of ours to celebrate yourself.
Happy Full Moon!
