Baresnax Celebration Cacao Recipe
Cacao is a great drink for those chilly winter days. It’s also great used in ceremony and ritual. Enjoy experimenting with this delicious and nutritious superfood! It is best paired with singing, dancing, and intention setting as you go!
Ingredients:
1 cup water (8 oz)
6 tablespoons cacao powder
Optional:
A sweetener to taste- agave, honey, maple syrup, birch syrup...
A pinch of cinnamon, nutmeg, or allspice
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
OR A pinch of cayenne pepper or chili to give it some heat.
Instructions:
Heat the water in a small saucepan on low-medium heat.
Whisk in the cacao gradually until combined.
Heat until just before boiling. Add a sweetener and your choice of spices. Taste as you go. Stir occasionally to combine. Serve hot and enjoy!
If you have any leftovers or make a big batch you can refrigerate the leftovers and enjoy later. We’ve come to really enjoy it the next day after letting it warm up to room temperature again.
