Patchwork Flag

Go to work for a country

That tells me I don’t belong

Sewing flags in a factory

Been at it since dawn

These stars and stripes

Are all I’ve ever known

Trying to deport me

That- would break my home

It’s all just patchwork

Stitching together scraps

The fabric of a nation

Is a patchwork flag

Momma’s got a full house

She’s raising those kids alone

Always making new clothes

From the rags we’ve outgrown

Her smile lifts my spirits

As I walk on out the door

The only things that’s illegal here

Is working hard- to be so poor

It’s all just patchwork

Stitching together scraps

The fabric of a nation

Is a patchwork flag

Oh say can you see

We’re all suffering

Tattered and frayed

We’re unravelling

It’s all just patchwork

Stitching together scraps

The fabric of a nation

Is a patchwork flag

It’s all just patchwork

Stitching together scraps

The fabric of a nation

Is a patchwork flag

Patchwork flag

Patchwork flag

Patchwork flag
